Designed as a free DVD Player for Mac, it also supports VideoCD, MKV, MOV, AVI, FLV, WMV, MP4, MPEG, RMVB, MP3, WMA and other non-mainstream formats on all Mac OS X, including Mac OS 10.12 Sierra.
Landcruisers, Streaming support and NAS browsing The app is not able to browse for files stored on a NAS drive. You can see the files but the Open button is dithered.
Also will not stream to Apple TV. Support is slow to respond and their reply seemed very non-committal around fixes for these issues. The player, itself works fine. Much the same as other players with simple controls. The registration nag is very annoying, particularly since once you’ve registered, they are slow to respond to support requests.
Developer Response, Dear landcruisers! Thanks for mentioning that the player itself works fine and easy. We’ve looked at NAS support issue.
MKPlayer uses the Open panel provided by the OS and it seems to work fine in our environment. We are now in the state to focus on smaller fixes as well, but because we could not reproduce this locally the best we can do is to keep an eye on it in the future.
